Since November 2023, our colleague, Sophie has been volunteering at the Back Into Daylight animal sanctuary over weekends. The work includes caring for the sanctuary's residents, feeding time, cleaning the animals' housing, clearing out farm buildings and much more!
The sanctuary is run by Declan and his partner Sharon, who accommodate over 400 residents, from abandoned pets to ill farm animals, giving them a second chance at life and a loving forever home, while being 100% volunteer-run. A range of animals live peacefully together here, from chickens, goats and pigs, to domestic cats and dogs.
On behalf of Sophie, Distilled made a donation of €1,000 which will hopefully go a long way in supporting the sanctuary!
